Counting From 1 to 10 in Tagalog | Vocabulary – Numbers

Difficulty Level: Maralita (Absolute Beginner)

Counting from 1 to 10 is a fundamental exercise for every language learner. By practicing your numbers, not only are you learning something you can use everyday, but you’re practicing pronunciation in the language as well.

Each language has its own set of sounds, called phonemes. I learned Mandarin Chinese as an adult. When I was a new Mandarin Chinese learner, my dad, who speaks the language fluently, made me count over and over again, fixing up my pronunciation as we went along. Focusing on my pronunciation through practicing numbers gave me an advantage over other Mandarin Chinese learners throughout the years.

That’s why it pays to practice your numbers.
